Maritime Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Maritime Officer you will be working in a team of 4-6 crew members. You are able to perform your duty independently on the bridge, engine room as well as on deck. Work is carried on in varies sailing areas such as Europe, the Middle-East and Africa.

Our Maritime Officers have a combined function as a chief mate and 2^nd engineer. No day will be the same due to the variety of your position. You will be responsible for preparing sailing plans, navigation and watchkeeping. Supporting the master with maneuvering, towing and anchor handling.

Next to this you will be the (additional) technical specialist on board where you will carry out maintenance on the engines, water pumps and generators while sharing your knowledge with our sailors and interns. 

PROFILE

• Minimum of 12 months experience as Maritime officer/ Chief officer on similar vessels
• Good communication and administrative skills
• Fluently command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing
• Hands-on mentality
• Independent, team player, assertive and persistence

IN POSSESSION OF 

• Valid CoC 
• Valid seaman’s book, STCW documents including medical health certificate
• Valid passport >6 months
