Crew Operator

We are looking for a Crew Operator to strengthen our Netherlands-based Crewing department and support our organization’s growth. Seacontractors has and will grow considerably via new buildings and acquisition of a variety of 50-, 70- and 120-tonnage vessels

In this role as Crew Operator, you will be part of a small, enthusiastic team responsible for overseeing the 250 highly qualified professionals who are working each day on our vessels on projects all around the world. We offer this position with the possibility to grow in an international growing organization. HQ is based in Vlissingen, Netherlands.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As Crew Operator, your role is to coordinate the crew onboard our vessels together with the Operations, Technical and Commercial department. Your daily responsibilities include:

• Planning and creating sailing schedule for our seafarers.
• Arranging crew changes, transportation, accommodation, visas, and other required documents efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Monitoring the validity of crewmembers’ documents such as travel documents, STCW certificates. Ensuring to keep them up to date.
• Plan and book crew for various trainings, development programs and refresher courses if necessary.
• Serving as the local point of contact for all seafarers and involved parties regarding crewing related arrangements and inquiries.
• Liaising and maintaining contact with crewing agencies worldwide regarding hired seafarers.
• Recruiting and ensuring suitability of candidates for positions onboard.
• Handling administrative tasks related to crew placement, monitoring contracts, timesheets, rest hours, and insurance claims.
• Ensure project related administration and additional requirements, such as crew matrix, project approval, induction, A1 certificates, or trainings, to be completed timely.
• Conducting preliminary control of payroll and invoices.
• Keeping knowledge of national and international regulations (IMO / STCW / MLC / ISM).
• Keeping knowledge of flag state requirements and apply for endorsements if needed.
• Periodically visiting our vessels and maintaining close contact with the crew.

• MBO-/HBO-level education.
• Strong interpersonal skill with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
• Team player with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written knowledge of the Dutch language.
• Good verbal and written knowledge of the English language.
• Showcasing strong problem-solving skills.
• Affinity with maritime industry is a plus.
• Full-time basis, on-site presence at our HQ office in Vlissingen.
